Ann-Marie : Hi there, I love your bird! I had a couple questions if you don't mind. Do you occasionally go out of town on weekends and is he ok on his own with enough food/water for the two days? Also, how much time a day are you able to spend with him? I work during the day and might have other activities after, but would be able to devote a couple hours at least on weekdays to a conure (thinking about getting green-cheek). Just wanted your thoughts, thanks so much!

Fabe : We have a Sun Conure named Sunny, not sure if it's a male or female, but for argument's sake we'll say female...because she keeps trying to feed me! She loves her baths, and tends to get right cranky if she doesn't get one EACH day! There was a time where we went for 2 days without giving her one, and you guessed it...she used her water bowl. We came home to water all over our new leather couch. The cage has sinced been moved, just in case! haha
Meg : hey, ur blog is pretty cool, u hav some awsome pix of ur roommates conure. in response to the person who is thinking about getting a green-cheek, i think it is probably not a good idea if the only time you will have for it is on the weekend. all conures are very social and my green-cheek screams if i dont get him out at least twice a day. on top of this you need to think about the time you need to clean the cage as they need quite a large cage for all their toys. maybe you should look into something that needs a bit less attention like a cockatiel.
Kat : hey there im kat and my birds name is sunny paradise. hes been with us since he was 5 months old and hes now 2 years old im not sure but i think he acts more like a toddler lol.. hes been a wondergful edition to me and my family, him and my daughter are bonded at the hip, whens we go get her from school he rides in the car most times and so excited to see her. when we are at home hes only in his cage when he sleeps .. he pretty much as full reign of the house. he gos and comes to use as he pleases thers a pirch in my room and above his cage i have put togethers that he just enjoys.. i have became really friendly and now ona first name basis with homedepot employees cause of the things i come up with .. u can see videos of sunny on my myspace url above.. anyways email me and ill sent u some more videos and pics of sunny

parrot cages : i agree with A-M its not a good idea to get a conure if you dont have the time to dedicate to its phsycological well being.
large parrot cages : awesome bird, i love sunnies they make such wonderful pets.Petey seems to be a bundle of joy!
